SILA
A few kilometers from the Tyrrhenian and Ionian seas is the Sila, a plateau full of fir and pine trees, lakes and pastures, dense forests and a high mountain climate. From the lower Neto valley, up to the mountains of the Crotone Sila, there is an itinerary that, in addition to having a strong naturalistic impact, can certainly be defined as "electrifying". Since the days of Magna Graecia, speaking of Calabria and the mountains meant speaking of Sila, the boundless and imposing Sylva Bruttia which with its secular and impenetrable forests covered the entire central region of Calabria.
Even today, visitors and tourists continue to be amazed to meet, a few kilometers from the Ionian or Tyrrhenian coast, such a variety of woods (larch pines, beeches, oaks, chestnuts) interspersed with meadows and pastures, rich in streams and lakes, so much so that make this vast plateau, often compared to the regions of northern Europe, the authentic green heart of the Mediterran.

LE CASTELLA
Le Castella is a fraction of Isola Capo Rizzuto. This inhabited center is located on the tip of a small peninsula that “closes” the Gulf of Squillace to the north. A suggestive tourist place is the Castle which is located on an islet rebuilt in the 16th century. It was built by Andrea Carafa before 1521, but its origins are much older. CAPO COLONNA
A suggestive excursion to do is on the extreme eastern point of Calabria. A few kilometers further north, along the state road 106 leading to Crotone, there is Capo Colonna, the only surviving testimony of the glorious past of the great Greek Kroton , where the ruins of the grandiose Temple of Hera still stand. L'AREA MARINA PROTETTA CAPO RIZZUTO
The Marine Area of Capo Rizzuto is one of the most fascinating protected areas in the whole Mediterranean, whose beauty is of immediate revelation. The Marine Area includes one of the most evocative marine environments of the Ionian coast which alternates rocky stretches with beaches where the Mediterranean scrub is kept intact; but it is above all the seabed that guarantees the uniqueness of the environment from a naturalistic point of view. To offer the possibility, even to those who do not dive, to observe the splendid backdrops, the Managing Authority provides visitors with bottomed transparent boat rides.
